Judy designed this as a surprise when I was recently in the hospital, proving to me that basket friends are the best! It is woven on a 6 x 10 oval base and uses our beautiful leather shoulder straps with inside/outside ears. The strap is available below. The finishing touch is made with leather lacing ties, also available below. |

| For "Judy's Leather Trimmed Tote".(See "Basket Patterns", under Judy Richmond.) I have a new supplier making these straps in a dark chestnut leather-beautiful straps. Will post a new scanned photo soon ( this scan came out badly). These straps look like the ones shown in the pattern photo, but they are a dark chestnut color. This beautifully made leather shoulder strap can be used on any basket to make it a shoulder tote. The strap has a buckle and is very adjustable. A pair of inside/outside ears is included. To insert, slip each end of the strap onto an inside/outside ear, insert your ears down into the weave of your basket after weaving your rim row, apply and lash your rim as usual. Use a 1/2" flat oval rim. |
