Nantucket style bushel handles are handcarved of white oak. Because they are more delicate than the heavy duty oak or ash bushels, they are nice to use in a basket that has a shorter weaving height or that uses smaller width weavers. Nantucket bushels come in a round (plain) top and a heart dip style. The 2" Nantucket bushel has a 1/4" notch and is perfect for the Mini Adirondack Pack Basket by Lisa Nortz. The 3" Nantucket Bushels work well in Judy Richmond's Tray Basket or Judy's Bread Machine Basket---I simply carve out a chunk of the notch with a sharp kitchen knife so it can accomodate the larger rim, or use a 3/8" rim to fit the notch.
